IB Student · Class of 2027
Interested in mathematics, computer science, and the occasional film. Currently figuring things out in Toronto.
I'm an IB student with a focus on mathematics and computer science. Originally from Cluj-Napoca, Romania, now based in Toronto.
Outside of academics, I play trombone, spend too much money on headphones, and read when I get the chance. Dostoevsky is a favorite but I'm usually bouncing between philosophy, fiction, and whatever else catches my attention. I also make short films with friends when time allows.
I've been doing competitive programming for a while now and genuinely enjoy the problem solving side of it. I take on leadership roles when I feel like I can actually contribute something. DECA, robotics, music council, among others. Building things with people is just more interesting than going at it alone.
Competitive programming is where most of my technical energy goes. There's something satisfying about taking a messy problem and finding an elegant solution. Scored 50+ on CCC Senior. Lately I've been getting into more CS theory and playing around with machine learning.
Trombone player. There's something grounding about brass instruments. You can't really fake your way through it. Part of the music council at school.
I like the rigor of it. It's the foundation for pretty much everything I do in CS. Planning to study it more seriously.
I watch a lot of films and sometimes make short ones with friends. Nothing too serious. Just a fun way to tell stories.
The Brothers Karamazov is probably my favorite book. But I read all over the place. Philosophy, fiction, some history. Whatever I'm in the mood for.
I've tried building a few things over the years. Most didn't work out but I learned more from those than anything else. Active in DECA.
Bit of an audiophile. Probably spend more time researching gear than I should. Good sound just makes everything better.
"Above all, don't lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others."
— Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov
Got into the Da Vinci Engineering Enrichment Program at U of T. Focused on advanced engineering and research.
Completed leadership principles course. Picked up some useful frameworks for thinking about teams and how organizations work.
CCC Senior scores over 50. Regular practice and contests. It's become one of the things I spend the most time on.
DECA, Robotics Club, Music Council, and a few other things at school. I like being part of building something with other people.
Tried a few ventures. Some worked, most didn't. But I learned a lot either way.
Whether it's about programming, a potential project, or just talking about books and films. Feel free to reach out.
